"The Future Knowledge Ecosystems" forecast report by IFTF published in IASP World Conference 2009

June 16, 2009

Annual World Conference of International Association of Science Parks (IASP) was recently successfully organised by Research Triangle Park in North Carolina. Over 800 delegates from more than 50 countries attended for this three days event.  This year's theme was "The Future Knowledge Ecosystems". The discussion was facilitated on the first morning by the presentation of Dr. Anthony Townsend from Institute for the Future (IFTF), who presented the results of the future forecast expert panel organised by IFTF. The whole white paper that focuses on trends of science parks development can be downloaded from www.iftf.org/iasp

The first Global Oasis Network implementation in Joensuu Science Park is demonstrated in part IV "Strategic Implications" of the report as a highlight of the broader strategic takeway that arise from future development scenarios (page 39-40). This recognition by the top international expert team is highly valuable for us and shows that Global Oasis Network thinking by Karostech management team is really leading the way towards the third generation of science parks - 3GSP's.

All keynote presentations from IASP annual conference 2009, including presentations by Anthony Townsend and Ilkka Kakko, can be found at http://www.iasp2009rtp.com/Downloads.cfm.
